The Opportunity

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within our UK team for a Senior Market Advisor, Technology & Digital Services. This is a senior-level position offering significant autonomy, strategic influence, and the chance to shape the international success of some of Ireland's most promising technology companies. You will serve as a key bridge between Irish innovation and UK market opportunity, working directly with start-ups, scale-ups, and established enterprises across IT Services, Cyber Security, and Digital Technology sectors.

This role demands a professional who combines commercial acumen with genuine passion for technology and innovation. You will be someone who thrives on building relationships, spotting market opportunities, and translating those opportunities into tangible commercial outcomes for your clients. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of independence while being a collaborative and supportive team member within a close-knit international office.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management: Oversee and actively manage a diverse portfolio of Irish client companies operating in IT Services, Cyber Security, SaaS, Fintech, and broader Digital Technology sectors. Develop a deep understanding of each client's product offering, value proposition, competitive positioning, and commercial ambitions in the UK market.
Strategic Growth Planning: Create and implement tailored market entry and growth strategies for each client within your portfolio. Identify sector-specific opportunities, recommend go-to-market approaches, and set measurable milestones and KPIs to track progress over defined timeframes.
UK Market Development: Drive client growth across the UK market through a combination of individual strategic engagements and group-level initiatives including trade missions, sector-specific showcases, networking events, and collaborative workshops designed to connect Irish companies with UK buyers and partners.
Relationship Building: Establish, develop, and maintain a robust and active network of UK-based decision-makers, influencers, procurement professionals, C-suite executives, and industry leaders across relevant technology sectors. Proactively leverage this network to facilitate warm introductions, strategic partnerships, and commercial opportunities that directly benefit your client portfolio.
Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor and analyse UK market trends, regulatory developments, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities within the Technology and Digital Services sectors. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
CRM and Reporting: Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date records of all client interactions, activities, pipeline developments, and outcomes within the CRM system. Ensure data integrity to support robust client management, internal reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Brand Visibility: Design and implement marketing activities, thought leadership content, events, and promotional initiatives to increase awareness and visibility of your portfolio companies' capabilities among relevant UK target audiences, industry bodies, and key customer segments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Enterprise Ireland's global network, including sector specialists in Dublin headquarters and regional offices, to ensure clients receive coordinated and comprehensive support. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to amplify success stories and thought leadership content.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in business development, market advisory, consulting, or client-facing roles within the technology, IT services, or digital services sectors.
Demonstrated track record of managing client portfolios and delivering measurable commercial outcomes in an international or cross-border business environment.
Strong existing network of contacts within the UK technology ecosystem, including enterprise buyers, channel partners, system integrators, and industry bodies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly with C-suite executives, technical leaders, and entrepreneurial founders alike.
Proven ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and manage multiple client relationships simultaneously without compromising quality or attention to detail.
Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics for managing client relationships, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
Familiarity with the Irish technology landscape and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by companies entering or scaling within the UK market.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to synthesise complex market information into clear, actionable client recommendations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including PowerPoint for client presentations, Excel for data analysis, and Teams for collaboration.
A third-level degree in Business, Technology, Marketing, or a related discipline. An MBA or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Technical Skills and Tools

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with modern business tools and platforms, including Salesforce or equivalent CRM systems, Microsoft Power BI or similar analytics tools for reporting, LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospecting and network building, event management platforms such as Eventbrite or Zoom for virtual and hybrid engagements, and project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Monday.com for coordinating complex client initiatives.
