Role: Project Trainee – Software Developer (Freshers)

MKCL is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented freshers for the position of Project Trainee (Software Developer). This is a full-time, on-site role based in Maharashtra, designed specifically for recent graduates who are passionate about software development and eager to kickstart their careers in a structured, mentorship-driven environment. As a Project Trainee, you will be embedded within active development teams and will contribute to real-world projects that impact thousands of users across Maharashtra.

This is not a shadowing or observational role. From your first week, you will be assigned meaningful tasks, participate in code reviews, attend sprint planning sessions, and work alongside senior developers to build, test, and deploy software solutions. MKCL's training methodology emphasizes hands-on learning, ensuring that by the end of your traineeship, you possess demonstrable skills in modern software development practices and are ready to take on independent project responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain web and mobile applications using modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript under the guidance of senior developers.
Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code following MKCL's coding standards and best practices, including version control using Git and GitHub/GitLab repositories.
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure transparent and efficient project delivery.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, React.js, or Angular, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and accessibility compliance.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and work with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, or Node.js to support front-end functionality and third-party service integrations.
Perform unit testing and integration testing using frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, or Jest, and assist in debugging and resolving software defects in a timely manner.
Assist in database design, query optimization, and data management using MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, ensuring data integrity and efficient retrieval.
Contribute to technical documentation including API specifications, system architecture diagrams, and user guides to support knowledge sharing within the team.
Monitor application performance using tools such as Grafana, New Relic, or custom dashboards, and suggest improvements to enhance system reliability and user experience.
Stay updated with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and proactively share knowledge with team members through internal tech talks and workshops.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field from a recognized university (2023, 2024, or 2025 pass-outs preferred).
Strong foundational knowledge of at least one programming language: Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and familiarity with at least one frontend or backend framework is a plus.
Exposure to relational databases and ability to write basic SQL queries.
Familiarity with Git for version control and collaborative development workflows.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Marathi.
Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being capable of independent task execution.
