Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Hospitality Manager to lead daily operations at Somerset Cebu Gorordo. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring seamless guest experiences, driving operational excellence, managing a diverse team, and achieving financial targets. The Hospitality Manager will serve as the primary point of accountability for property performance, guest satisfaction, staff development, and brand standards compliance.

This position reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with regional leadership at The Ascott Limited to implement corporate strategies, uphold brand values, and continuously elevate the guest experience across all touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily operations of Somerset Cebu Gorordo, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, and security departments, ensuring adherence to Ascott's global service standards and standard operating procedures.
Develop and execute annual operating budgets, financial plans, and revenue strategies to achieve or exceed targets for occupancy rate, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and gross operating profit (GOP).
Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of 40+ staff members, conducting regular performance evaluations, identifying training needs, and implementing professional development programs to build a high-performing hospitality team.
Monitor guest satisfaction scores through platforms such as ReviewPro, TrustYou, and internal feedback systems, implementing corrective action plans and service recovery protocols to maintain a minimum Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 70.
Ensure full compliance with Department of Tourism (DOT) regulations, occupational health and safety standards, fire safety codes, and local government requirements applicable to hospitality establishments in the Philippines.
Manage vendor relationships, procurement processes, and supply chain operations to ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality of amenities, linens, toiletries, food supplies, and maintenance services.
Coordinate with the sales and marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, corporate travel partnerships, and loyalty program initiatives that drive bookings through direct channels, OTAs (Online Travel Agencies such as Booking.com and Expedia), and the Ascott Online Booking platform.
Implement and maintain property management system (PMS) workflows using Opera PMS or similar platforms, ensuring accurate reservation management, billing, room inventory allocation, and reporting.
Conduct weekly property walkthroughs and quality audits, identifying maintenance issues, capital expenditure needs, and opportunities for property enhancement or renovation in coordination with the engineering and design teams.
Handle escalated guest complaints and complex service situations with professionalism, empathy, and swift resolution, documenting incidents and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Prepare and present monthly operational reports, financial analyses, and strategic recommendations to the General Manager and regional leadership, contributing to quarterly business reviews and annual planning sessions.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in hospitality management, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or senior supervisory role within a serviced residence, hotel, or luxury accommodation property.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (such as Certified Hotel Administrator from AHLEI) is a strong advantage.
Proven track record of achieving financial targets, improving guest satisfaction metrics, and leading high-performing teams in a competitive hospitality market.
Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, DOLE regulations, DOT accreditation requirements, and standard hospitality compliance frameworks.
Excellent communication skills in English and Filipino, both written and verbal. Proficiency in additional languages such as Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese is highly desirable given our diverse guest demographics.
Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations, handle high-pressure scenarios, and make sound operational decisions under tight deadlines.

Technical Skills and Tools

Opera PMS (Oracle Hospitality) — advanced proficiency in reservation management, guest profiles, billing, and reporting modules.
Microsoft Office Suite — strong command of Excel for financial modeling, budgeting, and data analysis; PowerPoint for presentations; and Outlook for communication management.
ReviewPro, TrustYou, or similar guest feedback and reputation management platforms.
POS systems such as Micros or Squirrel for food and beverage operations.
Property maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Revenue management tools and channel manager software for OTA distribution and rate optimization.
Social media management platforms (Facebook Business Suite, Instagram Business) for brand engagement and promotional campaigns.
