Description du poste
KBR, Inc. is actively seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Pipeline Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team based in Al Corniche, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This senior-level position offers a unique opportunity to lead critical pipeline engineering initiatives within one of the world's most prominent energy sectors. As a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction, KBR delivers innovative solutions across the hydrocarbon, petrochemical, and industrial sectors, and this role places you at the forefront of major infrastructure development projects throughout the Kingdom.
The Lead Pipeline Engineer will assume full technical ownership of pipeline design, engineering analysis, and project execution from conceptual development through detailed engineering and construction support. You will serve as the primary technical authority on all pipeline-related matters, providing expert guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams while ensuring strict compliance with international codes, standards, and client specifications. This position demands a professional who thrives in complex project environments and possesses the leadership capabilities to mentor junior engineers while maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence.
Your core responsibilities will encompass the complete spectrum of pipeline engineering activities. You will lead the development of pipeline routing studies, hydraulic analyses, and stress calculations for both onshore and offshore pipeline systems. The role requires extensive experience with pipeline design codes including ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, DNV-OS-F101, and other relevant international standards. You will oversee the preparation of engineering deliverables such as pipeline alignment sheets, crossing drawings, material specifications, and construction work packages. Additionally, you will coordinate with geotechnical, structural, and process engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized pipeline designs.
A critical aspect of this position involves providing technical leadership during front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, and procurement phases. You will review and approve vendor technical documentation, conduct engineering audits, and participate in hazard and operability studies. The Lead Pipeline Engineer will interface directly with clients, regulatory authorities, and construction contractors to resolve technical challenges and ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and schedule constraints. Experience with pipeline integrity management, corrosion protection systems, and cathodic protection design is essential for this role.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a minimum of fifteen years of progressive pipeline engineering experience, with at least five years in a lead or senior technical role on major oil and gas projects. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, pipeline engineering, or a closely related discipline is required, with a master's degree preferred. Professional Engineer registration or equivalent international certification is highly desirable. You must possess comprehensive knowledge of pipeline materials, welding procedures, non-destructive testing requirements, and pipeline commissioning procedures.
Technical proficiency with industry-standard engineering software is mandatory, including experience with CAESAR II for pipeline stress analysis, AutoCAD or MicroStation for design development, and pipeline simulation tools. Familiarity with geographic information systems for pipeline routing and integrity management databases will be considered a significant advantage. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, present engineering recommendations to senior management, and facilitate technical workshops with diverse stakeholders.
KBR offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including comprehensive benefits, professional development opportunities, and the chance to work on landmark projects that shape the future of energy infrastructure. This position represents an outstanding career advancement opportunity for a seasoned pipeline engineering professional seeking to make a lasting impact within a globally recognized organization. The recruitment process involves comprehensive technical evaluation and client interview stages to ensure the highest caliber of engineering talent joins our team.
