KBR, Inc. is currently seeking a highly skilled Community Planner to join its team in Saudi Arabia under the PSAB ESS program. This position requires an active Secret Clearance and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure and community development initiatives in a dynamic, mission-critical environment.
As a Community Planner at KBR, you will play a central role in shaping sustainable, functional, and resilient community environments. Your work will directly support the planning, design, and implementation of community-focused projects that align with strategic objectives and regulatory frameworks. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, environmental specialists, and government stakeholders to deliver integrated planning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review comprehensive community master plans that address land use, transportation, housing, public spaces, and infrastructure needs.
- Conduct site analyses, demographic studies, and environmental assessments to inform planning decisions.
- Coordinate with local authorities, military installations, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Prepare planning documents, reports, presentations, and visual materials for stakeholder review and approval.
- Facilitate public engagement sessions, workshops, and consultations to gather community input and build consensus.
- Evaluate zoning ordinances, development codes, and policy frameworks to recommend improvements.
- Support the integration of sustainability principles, smart growth strategies, and resilience planning into community development projects.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with program goals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior planning staff and interns.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in urban and regional planning.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Geography, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in community planning, urban design, or land use planning, preferably within government, military, or large-scale development contexts.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance is mandatory for this role.
- Demonstrated expertise in comprehensive plan development, zoning analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS), AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience presenting complex planning concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural, multidisciplinary team environments.
- Knowledge of NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) processes and environmental planning requirements.
- Familiarity with military installation planning standards and Department of Defense guidelines is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
- AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) certification.
- Experience working on overseas or international planning projects.
- Background in sustainable development, climate adaptation, or disaster resilience planning.
- Prior experience with KBR or similar defense and infrastructure contractors.
