Description du poste
Cortiva Institute is a leading national provider of career-focused education in the health and wellness sector, operating more than 20 accredited campuses across the United States. Our programs cover massotherapy, practical nursing, cosmetology, medical assisting, and other high-demand healthcare professions, with a 92% graduate employment rate in our Mid-Atlantic region campuses. The Baltimore/Linthicum Heights site serves a diverse student body of over 400 learners annually, with strong partnerships with local healthcare systems, community organizations, and high school vocational programs.
We are recruiting a Campus Director to lead all operational, academic, and strategic activities for our Baltimore/Linthicum Heights location. This senior leadership role reports directly to the Vice President of Campus Operations for the East Coast region, and is responsible for driving campus performance, student success, regulatory compliance, and long-term growth in the competitive Baltimore education market.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Overseeing all daily campus operations, including course scheduling, classroom and lab resource allocation, and facilities management, while ensuring 100% compliance with Maryland state higher education accreditation standards and federal Title IV regulations during annual audits.
2. Leading a cross-functional team of 15 to 20 staff, including academic advisors, admissions counselors, instructors, and administrative support, implementing performance management frameworks and professional development programs to reduce academic staff turnover by 15% within the first 12 months.
3. Driving enrollment targets by developing and maintaining partnerships with local high schools, community colleges, Baltimore-area healthcare providers, and workforce development agencies, with a goal of achieving 120% of annual enrollment targets set by the corporate headquarters.
4. Managing an annual operating budget of $2.5 million, controlling operational expenses, optimizing supply and facility costs, and identifying new revenue streams (including continuing education workshops for practicing healthcare professionals) to grow campus revenue by 10% year-over-year.
5. Improving student outcomes by implementing a targeted support system for at-risk learners, organizing career readiness events, and building relationships with local employers for clinical placements, with targets to increase student retention from 85% to 92% within 18 months, and graduate employment rates from 78% to 85% within 6 months of degree completion.
6. Ensuring full regulatory compliance with Maryland Higher Education Commission rules, Title IX requirements, and campus safety standards, preparing and submitting all required quarterly and annual reports to state regulators and corporate leadership.
7. Representing the campus at local education fairs, community events, and industry conferences to raise awareness of Cortiva’s programs and strengthen the institution’s reputation in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
8. Leading continuous improvement of academic programs by gathering feedback from students, instructors, and local healthcare employers, and collaborating with the corporate curriculum team to align course offerings with regional labor market needs.
The campus environment is inclusive and collaborative, with a strong focus on student support and community impact. You will work closely with campus staff, regional leadership, and corporate teams based in Philadelphia, with a hybrid work arrangement offering 2 remote work days per week after successful completion of a 6-month probation period. Occasional evening and weekend work is required for events such as graduation ceremonies, admissions fairs, and community partnership meetings.
Candidate requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in higher education, professional training, or the healthcare/wellness sector, with a proven track record of managing teams of 10 or more staff.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. higher education regulations, including Maryland state accreditation requirements and federal financial aid rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (mandatory); Spanish proficiency is a strong asset given the diversity of our student population.
- Proven experience managing operating budgets of at least $1 million, with strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and make data-driven operational decisions.
- Experience building partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations is highly preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple concurrent projects, and adapt to changing regulatory or operational priorities.
Required technical skills include proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) such as CampusVue or PeopleSoft, familiarity with project management tools including Asana or Monday.com, experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Moodle, and proficiency with CRM platforms including Salesforce for student prospect tracking.
We offer a competitive compensation package aligned with candidate experience, including an annual base salary between $95,000 and $120,000, 80% employer-paid health insurance for employees and their families, 20 days of paid annual leave plus 10 paid sick days, paid family leave, a 401(k) retirement plan with 4% employer match, up to $3,000 per year in professional development stipends for conferences and certifications, and eligibility for performance-based annual bonuses tied to campus enrollment and student outcome targets.
This role provides clear career progression pathways, including opportunities to advance to Regional Director of Operations, leadership roles at the corporate headquarters in curriculum development or strategic planning, or oversight of multiple campuses in the Mid-Atlantic region. We also offer a formal mentorship program with experienced campus directors and leadership training courses tailored to the higher education sector.
The recruitment process is ongoing, with a final application deadline of November 30, 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 10 business days of submitting their application. The full interview process consists of three stages: 1) A 30-minute phone screening with the East Coast Regional Operations Manager, 2) A 1-hour in-person (or virtual) interview with the campus academic dean and HR business partner, including a 20-minute practical case study focused on improving campus enrollment, and 3) A 45-minute final interview with the corporate Vice President of Campus Operations. We aim to extend formal offers by December 15, 2024, for an ideal start date of January 6, 2025.
