Hiring Data Engineer in Louisville

📍 Louisville, KY, USAFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

CodeHire Global Solutions INC is a boutique technology consulting firm founded in 2016, headquartered in downtown Louisville, KY, with a distributed team of 120 employees serving 80+ mid-market and enterprise clients across the U.S. and globally in healthcare, financial services, supply chain logistics, and retail. We specialize in building custom, scalable data platforms that transform raw operational data into actionable business insights, with a 92% client retention rate over the past three years. Our Louisville hub is our second-largest office, focused on delivering end-to-end data engineering solutions for clients ranging from Fortune 500 healthcare systems to fast-growing e-commerce brands operating across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

We are currently hiring a mid-senior Data Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role based in Louisville, KY, with three days per week required onsite in our downtown office. We accept relocation applications from qualified candidates outside the Louisville metropolitan area, and offer a $5,000 relocation stipend for new hires moving from more than 50 miles away.

In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of data pipeline development, optimization, and maintenance for a portfolio of 12 active client accounts, with the opportunity to lead 2-3 high-impact data migration and modernization projects per year. Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines processing 2TB+ of structured and unstructured data daily, reducing data latency for client self-service reporting by 30% within your first six months in the role.
2. Optimize MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL database query performance and indexing strategies, cutting average query run time by 25% for core client analytics workloads to support real-time decision-making.
3. Implement and manage cloud data infrastructure on AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift) to ensure 99.9% uptime for client data platforms, with incident response and resolution within two hours of any SLA breach.
4. Develop and enforce data governance frameworks including automated data validation, deduplication protocols, and compliance with HIPAA for U.S. healthcare clients and GDPR for EU-based customer datasets.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data analysts, data scientists, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, cost-effective data architecture solutions, delivering 90% of project milestones on or ahead of schedule.
6. Build and maintain data observability dashboards using Datadog and Prometheus to proactively identify pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks, reducing unplanned data platform downtime by 40% year-over-year.
7. Mentor 2-3 junior data engineers on the Louisville team, conducting weekly code reviews and monthly knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team-wide technical competency and reduce new hire onboarding time by 50%.
8. Document all data pipeline architectures, data lineage maps, and operational runbooks to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and reduce time-to-resolution for post-deployment issues by 35%.

Our Louisville office operates in the downtown tech corridor, with collaborative open workspaces, quiet focus rooms for deep development work, and a fully stocked kitchen with free coffee, snacks, and catered team lunches every Friday. We operate a flexible hybrid schedule: three days per week onsite for team standups, client syncs, and collaborative workshops, with two remote days for focused pipeline development and documentation. We prioritize work-life balance above all else: we offer flexible start times between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. to accommodate personal commitments, no mandatory after-hours on-call rotations except for pre-scheduled client go-lives with 1.5x overtime pay, and 20 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays annually. Our culture is flat and feedback-driven, with no unnecessary middle management bureaucracy: all employees have monthly 1:1s with senior leadership to share ideas, raise concerns, and contribute to company-wide strategy.

To be successful in this role, you must have 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering roles, with a proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines for enterprise clients. Required technical qualifications include hands-on experience with MongoDB administration, ETL/ELT tools (Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or dbt), advanced SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and Python. Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is required, and familiarity with data governance frameworks, data observability tools, and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR) is strongly preferred. You must be able to commute to our downtown Louisville office three days per week, or be willing to relocate to the Louisville area. Strong communication skills to present technical concepts to non-technical client stakeholders are a must.

We offer a competitive total compensation package tailored to mid-senior data engineering market rates in the Louisville area. The base salary for this role ranges from $105,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on your years of experience, technical skill alignment, and project leadership experience. Additional benefits include 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees, plus 50% coverage for dependents; a 401(k) plan with 4% employer match; 20 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays and 5 paid volunteer days per year; a $2,000 annual professional development stipend for conferences, certifications, or continued education; and access to a free employee assistance program for mental health, financial planning, and wellness support.

We have a clear, transparent career progression framework for all data engineering team members. After two years with the team, high-performing engineers can advance to Senior Data Engineer (with a 15-20% salary increase) or Data Engineering Team Lead (with people management and project oversight responsibilities). We also support internal mobility to roles in data architecture, cloud engineering, or client-facing data consulting for employees looking to expand their skill sets and take on new challenges. Every employee receives a personalized professional development plan reviewed quarterly with their direct manager to align your career goals with open opportunities at the company.

Our hiring process is designed to be transparent and efficient, with all stages completed within three weeks of application submission. Step 1: A 30-minute initial phone screen with our Louisville talent acquisition partner to discuss your background, experience, and interest in the role. Step 2: A 60-minute technical interview with the lead data engineering manager, including a live, practical coding exercise focused on pipeline optimization and a discussion of your past data engineering projects. Step 3: A 60-minute panel interview with two members of the Louisville data engineering team and one client delivery lead to assess your cross-functional collaboration and client communication skills. Step 4: A final offer discussion with the hiring manager and HR business partner to review compensation, benefits, and role details. All candidates will receive a status update within two business days of each interview step, and all applicants will receive a confirmation email within one business day of submitting their materials. To apply, share your resume and a 2-3 sentence overview of a data engineering project you led that aligns with the responsibilities outlined above to [email protected], with the subject line “Data Engineer Application – [Your Full Name] – Louisville”. We will review all applications received by October 31, 2024, and contact qualified candidates to schedule interviews beginning November 4, 2024.
