Based in Louisville, Kentucky, our 45-person company has grown 30% annually over the past three years, driven by rising demand for compliant, high-performance data analysis solutions. We are currently expanding our 12-person data engineering team to support high-impact projects, including a logistics demand forecasting platform for a major U.S. transportation provider and a patient journey tracking tool for a network of European clinics.

We are hiring a full-time Data Engineer for a hybrid role based in Louisville, Kentucky, with 3 mandatory on-site days per week. Relocation from other U.S. states is accepted, with a $5,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates. We are looking for a professional with 5 to 7 years of experience in data engineering in a cloud environment, ready to invest in concrete, high-value projects.

Your core responsibilities will include:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines processing more than 15 TB of raw data daily, using Apache Spark, Airflow, and dbt, with a 99.8% processing success rate and incident resolution within 2 hours during business hours, in line with client-defined service level agreements (SLAs).

- Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and product teams to translate functional requirements into reliable data architectures, delivering a minimum of 2 new integrated data sources per quarter for logistics demand forecasting and patient journey tracking projects.
- Implement and maintain automated tests covering 95% of critical pipeline use cases, using tools such as Great Expectations, to reduce data errors by 40% and ensure data quality for reports compliant with HIPAA (healthcare) and GDPR (European personal data) regulations.
- Manage and update technical documentation of architectures, processing workflows, and best practices on a weekly basis, enabling new team members to become operational in less than 2 weeks.
- Oversee data access security, applying at-rest and in-transit encryption policies in line with healthcare and financial sector regulatory requirements, and conducting quarterly access audits.
- Participate in continuous team process improvement, proposing and implementing at least 2 workflow optimizations per quarter to reduce new pipeline deployment time by 25%.
- Coach and train junior data analysts on SQL best practices and data tool usage, with monthly progress tracking.

Our data team is made up of 12 specialists with varied profiles who work closely together on high-impact projects. We operate in agile mode with 2-week sprints, and encourage initiative and knowledge sharing during our weekly technical review sessions and quarterly workshops dedicated to experimenting with new data tools. The work environment is relaxed but rigorous on deliverable quality, with a clear work-life balance: no work emails after 7 p.m. outside of planned crisis periods, and a minimum of 20 paid vacation days per year.

- Team spirit, ability to solve complex problems, and adaptability to fast-changing environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.

The compensation for this role ranges from $95,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on experience and skills, with an annual bonus of 10 to 15% linked to team and project performance. We also offer the following benefits:
