Hiring Retail Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, ArizonaFull-timeOn-site📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Founded in 1956, Williams Sonoma is a global leader in premium retail for kitchenware, furniture, and home decor, with over 600 stores across the United States and a presence in 30 countries. Our Biltmore Fashion Park location in Phoenix is one of our top-performing stores in the Southwest, welcoming more than 200,000 visitors annually with a diverse clientele ranging from young professionals to families looking to furnish their homes. This Retail Sales Manager role is a key position to drive store growth, lead a passionate team, and ensure every visitor receives an experience that matches our brand’s commitment to quality and customer service.
### Key Responsibilities
1. **Commercial performance oversight**: You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets set at $1.2 million for the store. You will analyze daily sales data via Shopify Retail and NetSuite dashboards to identify consumption trends, top-performing products, and improvement areas. You will adjust merchandising strategies, local promotions, and loyalty campaigns to increase the conversion rate by 15% over a 6-month period.
2. **Team leadership and development**: You will manage a team of 12 sales advisors, including 3 team leads. You will conduct weekly individual check-ins, implement product training programs covering the full Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and West Elm ranges, and manage schedules to ensure optimal coverage during peak periods (weekends, holidays, special events). You will conduct semi-annual performance reviews and identify development paths for each team member, with a goal of reducing team turnover by 10% annually.
3. **Customer experience optimization**: You will oversee customer welcome from the moment they enter the store, implement service standards to ensure every customer is greeted within 30 seconds, and resolve customer complaints within 24 hours. You will lead the brand’s loyalty program to increase customer return rates by 20% annually, and maintain a 4.8/5 satisfaction rating on Google Reviews and Yelp.
4. **Inventory and visual merchandising management**: You will be responsible for in-store product presentation in line with brand guidelines, optimizing high-traffic areas to showcase new collections and ongoing promotions. You will manage inventory via NetSuite to reduce out-of-stock rates for best-selling products by 10%, and coordinate weekly merchandise receiving to ensure all shelves are perfectly presented before store opening.
5. **Daily operations coordination**: You will manage checkout operations via the Shopify POS system, ensure compliance with safety and loss prevention procedures, and lead store closing operations. You will also coordinate special client events (cooking workshops, collection launches, private sales) to drive 10% additional sales during these events.
6. **Budget management**: You will manage a monthly operating budget of $25,000, covering local marketing, team training, and merchandising supplies. You will track gross margin indicators to meet the 45% target set by headquarters, and identify cost-saving opportunities without impacting customer experience quality.
### Work Environment and Culture
At Williams Sonoma, we believe diversity of background and experience is a core strength. Our Biltmore Fashion Park team includes collaborators from more than 15 nationalities, and we foster an inclusive work environment where every idea is valued. We prioritize work-life balance, with flexible scheduling for family events, and a supportive management style that encourages autonomy and initiative. You will have access to a fully equipped break room, regular internal events (product tastings, home decor trend training), and a collaborative atmosphere where teams support each other to hit shared goals.
### Candidate Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must have 3 to 5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in home goods, furniture, or luxury retail. You must be proficient in retail management tools including Shopify Retail, NetSuite, POS systems, and sales data analysis platforms. You have excellent communication skills for both client and team interactions, and can resolve complex issues under pressure. You have proven experience leading teams, and know how to motivate collaborators to hit ambitious targets. Knowledge of visual merchandising and inventory management principles is an asset. You must be able to travel to the Biltmore Fashion Park site for special operations and events, and hold a valid driver’s license. Fluency in English is mandatory; Spanish proficiency is a strong plus to serve Phoenix’s large Spanish-speaking customer base.
### Compensation and Benefits
In addition to an annual salary between $65,000 and $78,000 depending on your experience and skills, you will receive an annual performance bonus of 10% to 15% of your annual salary, tied to store sales and customer satisfaction targets. We offer a health insurance plan with 80% coverage for you and your dependents, 15 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid sick days, and all public holidays paid. You will also receive a 40% employee discount on all Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and West Elm products, access to a professional development program with leadership and retail-specific training, and the option to work remotely 1 day per week for administrative tasks. You will also be eligible for the company’s profit-sharing program after 1 year of tenure.
### Career Growth Opportunities
This Retail Sales Manager role is a stepping stone to higher-responsibility positions within Williams Sonoma. After 2 years of strong performance, you can apply for Regional Sales Manager roles overseeing multiple stores in the Southwest, or Store Director positions with increased salary and responsibilities. We also offer internal mobility opportunities at our San Francisco headquarters in operations, training, or marketing teams. Our internal mentorship program will connect you with experienced store directors to support your career development.
