Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix

📍 Phoenix, AZ, USAFull-timeOn-site📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

Wise Staffing Group is a U.S.-based national staffing and recruitment firm with 22 offices across 14 states, specializing in placing mid-to-senior level professionals in high-demand sectors including healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, technology, and professional services. Founded in 2009, we have matched more than 12,000 job seekers with permanent and temporary roles, and partnered with over 3,500 business clients to reduce turnover, fill critical skill gaps, and build scalable workforces. Our Phoenix office has grown 40% year-over-year as local demand for specialized talent in the tech, logistics, and healthcare sectors outpaces national hiring averages, and we are expanding our sales team to keep pace with that growth.
We are currently seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our Phoenix, AZ office, owning full responsibility for sales and client account management across the Phoenix metro area, including Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for small to mid-sized business clients seeking staffing solutions, from initial lead outreach to contract signing and long-term account growth. Unlike generic sales roles focused solely on new client acquisition, this position offers the opportunity to build long-term client partnerships, with uncapped earning potential and a clear path to senior leadership for consistent, above-target results.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Owning end-to-end sales for the Phoenix territory, prospecting 15-20 qualified business leads per week via cold outreach, attendance at local business networking events, and referral partnerships with organizations including the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, local industry associations, and small business development centers. Your goal will be to sign 12 new staffing service clients per quarter, with a target lead conversion rate of 20% or higher.
- Managing a portfolio of 40-60 active staffing clients, conducting monthly check-ins to identify upcoming hiring needs, and cross-selling additional service lines including temp-to-hire placements, direct hire executive search, payroll processing, and HR consulting to increase average revenue per account by 15% year-over-year.
- Collaborating closely with the Phoenix recruitment team to align client job requirements with our candidate pool, ensuring 90% of placed roles meet client satisfaction scores of 4 out of 5 or higher within 30 days of placement, reducing client churn by 10% annually.
- Developing and executing territory-specific sales strategies, analyzing local market trends such as the rapid growth of Phoenix's semiconductor and logistics sectors to tailor your service offerings and positioning, resulting in a 20% increase in lead conversion rate within your first 6 months of tenure.
- Negotiating and finalizing staffing service contracts with clients, ensuring all pricing and terms align with company margin targets of 35% or higher for new accounts, while maintaining competitive pricing that meets client budget constraints.
- Tracking all sales activity, client interactions, and pipeline data in our CRM platform with 100% accuracy, submitting weekly pipeline reports to the regional sales director to forecast quarterly revenue within 5% of actuals, enabling the leadership team to allocate recruitment resources effectively across the territory.
- Representing Wise Staffing Group at 2-3 local business and industry events per month to build brand awareness, generate qualified leads, and position our team as a trusted workforce partner for Phoenix-area businesses.
- Resolving client service issues within 24 hours of escalation, working cross-functionally with the operations and recruitment teams to address concerns, retain at-risk accounts, and maintain an annual client retention rate of 85% or higher.
The Wise Staffing Group Phoenix office is located in downtown Phoenix, with accessible public transit and free on-site parking for all employees. Our culture is performance-driven but low-pressure, with no mandatory after-hours work unless you are actively negotiating a client contract, and flexible scheduling to accommodate networking events, client meetings, or personal commitments. We prioritize collaboration over internal competition, with regular team brainstorming sessions to share sales strategies and success stories, and a monthly "Top Performer" recognition program that rewards exceeding targets with extra paid time off and cash bonuses. Our leadership team has an open-door policy, and we actively solicit feedback from frontline sales staff to improve our service offerings and internal processes. We also host quarterly team outings, including happy hours, sporting events, and volunteer opportunities with local community organizations, to build camaraderie and give back to the Phoenix area.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3 or more years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets for 2 or more consecutive years. Prior experience in staffing, recruitment, professional services, or HR-adjacent sales is strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in CRM platforms including HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar tools, with the ability to track sales activity accurately and generate pipeline reports independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with business owners, HR leaders, and hiring managers across a wide range of industries.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as this role requires regular travel to client sites across the Phoenix metro area, with a monthly car allowance provided to cover fuel and maintenance costs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively with the recruitment and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, an existing network of local business contacts in Phoenix's healthcare, logistics, or manufacturing sectors, and prior experience selling workforce solutions or HR services.
You will use the following real-world tools daily in this role: HubSpot CRM for client and pipeline tracking, LinkedIn Sales Navigator for lead prospecting, Google Workspace for team collaboration, Microsoft Office Suite for contract creation and reporting, Calendly for scheduling client meetings, Zoom for virtual check-ins, and the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce member directory for local lead generation. Full training on all company-specific platforms will be provided during your first 30 days of employment.
This role offers a highly competitive, uncapped compensation package designed to reward high performers generously. Your base salary will be up to $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your years of sales experience and prior staffing industry tenure, plus uncapped commission paid weekly so you see the financial results of your work immediately. Top-performing Area Sales Managers in our Phoenix territory earn an average total annual compensation of $180,000 to $220,000.
Additional benefits from your first day of employment include:
- 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and all eligible dependents, with no monthly employee premiums.
- 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% employer match, with immediate vesting for all contributions.
- 15 days of paid time off per year, plus 10 paid company holidays, with additional PTO awarded for exceeding annual sales targets.
- Annual $2,000 professional development stipend for sales training, conference attendance, or professional certifications.
- Company-provided cell phone and laptop, with access to a dedicated IT support team for technical issues.
- Monthly $500 car allowance to cover fuel, maintenance, and parking costs for territory travel.
- Access to a company-wide profit-sharing program that pays out an additional 5-10% of your annual sales revenue to top performers at the end of each fiscal year.
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate client meetings and networking events, with no mandatory after-hours work unless pre-approved for client negotiations.
Wise Staffing Group prioritizes internal promotion, and this Area Sales Manager role is a direct pipeline to senior leadership for high-performing team members. After 12 consecutive months of exceeding territory sales and retention targets, you will be eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Director, overseeing 3 to 5 area sales managers across the Southwest, with a base salary of $140,000 to $160,000 plus higher commission and bonus structures. We also offer quarterly leadership training sessions, one-on-one mentorship from our executive sales team, and opportunities to contribute to company-wide sales strategy development. Many of our current regional and executive leadership started their careers at Wise Staffing Group as area sales managers in individual markets, so this role offers long-term stability and growth for ambitious sales professionals.
