Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix

📍 Phoenix, AZ, USAFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

Wise Staffing Group is a 12-year-old national staffing firm that connects skilled trades, industrial, and professional talent with mid-sized to enterprise clients across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and commercial construction sectors across the United States. With 22 regional offices and a 92% client retention rate for our temp-to-hire and direct placement services, we placed over 8,400 candidates in 2023, and are expanding our Phoenix metro sales team to support growing client demand in the region. We are hiring an Area Sales Manager for our Phoenix, AZ region to lead end-to-end sales operations for our staffing solutions, manage a portfolio of 40-50 existing mid-market clients, and drive new business growth to meet regional revenue targets. This role offers a competitive base salary of up to $115,000 annually, adjusted for years of relevant sales experience and prior industry performance, plus uncapped weekly commission paid every Friday. Top performers in this role earned an average total compensation of $178,000 in 2023, with our highest-earning Phoenix area sales manager taking home $212,000 last year. Your core responsibilities will include: 1. Manage and grow a portfolio of 40-50 existing manufacturing, logistics, and commercial construction clients in the Phoenix metro area, conducting weekly check-ins, quarterly business reviews, and addressing service gaps to maintain a 90%+ client retention rate annually. 2. Lead new business development for the Phoenix region, sourcing and closing 12-15 new staffing contracts per year for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct placement services, with a target of $2.2M in new annual recurring revenue in your first 12 months. 3. Collaborate with the local recruitment team to align client talent needs with candidate pipelines, reducing time-to-fill for open roles by 15% year-over-year and maintaining a 95%+ candidate placement satisfaction score. 4. Develop and execute quarterly regional sales strategies, including targeted outreach to 30+ unserved mid-market clients per quarter, tailored pricing proposals, and competitive analysis of local staffing firms to capture additional market share. 5. Oversee end-to-end contract negotiations for staffing agreements, ensuring terms align with company margin targets of 28-32% for temporary placements and 18-22% for direct placements, while resolving client escalations within 24 hours to meet SLA requirements. 6. Track and report sales metrics weekly via Salesforce, including lead conversion rates, pipeline value, revenue growth, and client retention, presenting monthly performance updates to the regional sales director. 7. Represent Wise Staffing Group at 4-6 local industry events, chamber of commerce meetings, and client networking functions per quarter to build brand awareness and generate 15+ qualified new leads per month. 8. Mentor and train 2-3 new junior sales representatives on onboarding, client relationship management, and sales best practices, contributing to a 20% reduction in new hire ramp-up time for the regional team. Our work environment is designed to support sales success without unnecessary bureaucracy. Our Phoenix office is located in the central business district with hybrid scheduling options (3 days in office for team meetings and client calls, 2 days remote for prospecting and administrative work), access to a dedicated administrative support team to handle contract paperwork and invoicing, and a monthly sales stipend of $150 for client meals, event tickets, and networking costs. We prioritize transparency for all sales staff: you will have real-time access to your commission tracking via our internal dashboard, no hidden clawbacks for client cancellations outside of your control, and a clear path to performance-based bonuses for exceeding annual targets. We host monthly team-building events, including quarterly offsites for top-performing sales staff, and offer flexible PTO that does not expire at the end of the year. To qualify for this role, you must have at least 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in staffing, recruiting, or a related B2B services industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing a portfolio of 30+ B2B clients. You should be comfortable with CRM tools, have strong negotiation and presentation skills, and be able to travel across the Phoenix metro area for in-person client meetings (a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required). Candidates with prior experience serving manufacturing, logistics, construction, or healthcare clients will have a shorter ramp-up period and are strongly preferred. A bachelor's degree is preferred, but we will consider candidates with equivalent professional sales experience in lieu of a degree. You will use the following tools in your day-to-day work: Salesforce for CRM and pipeline tracking, HubSpot for lead generation and marketing automation, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for sales forecasting, PowerPoint for client presentations), Zoom for virtual client calls, and DocuSign for contract execution. Experience with Bullhorn, a staffing-specific ATS/CRM platform, is a plus but not required for this role. In addition to your base salary and uncapped weekly commission, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, a 401(k) plan with 4% employer match, 15 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays, and a $2,000 annual professional development stipend for sales training, industry conferences, or certification courses. We also cover 100% of cell phone and internet costs for remote work days, and provide a company vehicle or $500 monthly vehicle allowance for client site visits. This role offers clear career growth opportunities for high-performing employees. Top Area Sales Managers are eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Director within 18-24 months, where you will oversee 3-5 area sales managers across the Southwest region. We also have a path to senior leadership roles, including VP of Sales, for candidates who demonstrate consistent revenue growth, team mentorship skills, and strategic planning ability. We provide quarterly leadership training sessions, access to executive coaching for high-potential employees, and opportunities to contribute to company-wide sales strategy development. The hiring process for this role consists of 3 clear steps: first, a 30-minute initial phone screen with our regional HR manager to discuss your background and fit for the role; second, a 60-minute virtual interview with the Phoenix regional sales director to review your past sales performance and answer questions about the role; third, a 45-minute final interview (in-person at our Phoenix office or virtual, per your preference) with the VP of Sales to discuss long-term career goals and team expectations. We aim to extend offers to qualified candidates within 10 business days of the final interview, with a target start date of within 3 weeks of offer acceptance. To apply, submit your resume and a 1-paragraph summary of your most relevant B2B sales win to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager Application - [Your Full Name] - Phoenix". We review all applications on a rolling basis, and will reach out to candidates whose experience aligns with our requirements within 5 business days of submission.
