Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZ, USAFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group has spent the last 18 years building a national footprint in workforce solutions, placing over 12,000 professional, industrial, and healthcare candidates annually with clients ranging from local small businesses to Fortune 500 manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare systems across 22 states. Our Phoenix market has seen 35% year-over-year growth in client demand over the past 2 years, and we are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our regional business development and client account management efforts to keep pace with that demand.
In this role, you will own the full sales lifecycle for the Phoenix metro area, from prospecting new clients to managing long-term account relationships and negotiating placement contracts. Unlike generic sales roles where you are handed a cold list of unqualified leads, you will work closely with our local recruitment team to align client talent needs with our active candidate pools, ensuring you can deliver on the promises you make to prospects from day one. Your performance will be measured against clear, transparent KPIs: minimum 20% year-over-year revenue growth for your managed portfolio, 15% conversion rate from initial outreach to signed service agreements, and a 95%+ client satisfaction score for all accounts under your management.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing a 90-day onboarding sales plan and annual revenue plan for the Phoenix market, with monthly progress reviews with the regional sales director to adjust strategy based on market trends and client feedback.
- Managing a portfolio of 40-60 active B2B clients across manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and professional services, conducting quarterly business reviews to identify upselling opportunities for temporary, temp-to-perm, and direct hire placements.
- Prospecting 15-20 new qualified business accounts per month using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, local Phoenix chamber of commerce events, industry trade shows, and targeted cold outreach to HR leaders and operations managers.
- Collaborating with the local recruitment team to reduce time-to-fill for open client roles by 25% within your first 6 months in the role, ensuring placement quality meets client expectations and drives repeat business.
- Negotiating client service contracts, pricing structures, and SLA terms, with a target of maintaining a minimum 30% gross profit margin on all placements managed under your portfolio.
- Representing Wise Staffing Group at 2-3 local networking events, client hospitality functions, and industry conferences per month to build brand awareness and generate qualified sales leads.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline forecasts and client interaction records in Salesforce, submitting weekly progress reports to track performance against revenue goals.
- Resolving client service escalations related to placements under your management, working cross-functionally with recruitment and operations teams to resolve issues within 24 hours and retain high-value client accounts.
- Mentoring 1-2 junior sales representatives joining the Phoenix team in your first year, sharing best practices for staffing sales and client relationship management to support team-wide performance goals.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in our downtown Phoenix office and 2 days flexible for client meetings and remote work. Our office culture is collaborative and low-silo: sales and recruitment teams sit together for daily 15-minute huddles to align on open roles and client needs, and we recognize top performers publicly in weekly team meetings. We prioritize work-life balance, with no after-hours client communication expectations unless pre-agreed with the client, and flexible scheduling for client meetings outside of standard 9-5 hours.
To qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas (please include verifiable revenue numbers from past roles in your application). Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions sales. You must be proficient in Salesforce CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong verbal and written communication skills to build rapport with C-level executives, HR leaders, and hiring managers. You will need to be able to travel within the Phoenix metro area for client meetings up to 30% of the time, so a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. You must also be legally authorized to work in the United States.
In terms of compensation, this role offers a base salary of up to $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your years of relevant sales experience and prior staffing industry tenure. You will also have access to an uncapped commission structure paid weekly, with top performers in the Phoenix market earning an additional $60,000 to $90,000 annually in commission. Our benefits package includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 90% of employee premiums covered and 50% of dependent premiums covered, a 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting, 15 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays and 2 annual volunteer days. We also provide a $75 monthly cell phone and internet stipend, company-provided laptop and pre-paid Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscriptions, and a $2,000 annual professional development stipend for sales conferences, industry certifications, or continuing education courses. Top 10% performers each quarter receive a cash bonus, and annual top performers are eligible for an all-expenses paid trip to a destination of their choice.
Career growth with Wise Staffing Group is transparent and merit-based. Area Sales Managers who consistently exceed performance targets are eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Manager overseeing 2-3 markets within 18-24 months of hire, with access to 1:1 mentorship from our executive leadership team. We prioritize internal promotions for all corporate and regional roles, so you will have the opportunity to cross-train in recruitment operations, client success, or sales leadership to prepare for advancement. Many of our current regional sales leaders started as individual contributors in sales roles just like this one.
Our hiring process for this role is straightforward and designed to respect your time:
1. Application review: Our talent acquisition team will review all submitted resumes and LinkedIn profiles within 3 business days of application receipt.
2. Phone screening: Qualified candidates will be invited to a 30-minute phone call with a talent acquisition specialist to discuss your background, salary expectations, and fit for the role.
3. Hiring manager interview: Selected candidates will complete a 45-minute video call with the Phoenix Regional Sales Director to review your past sales performance, strategy for growing the Phoenix market, and alignment with our team culture.
4. Panel interview: Finalists will participate in a 60-minute panel interview with 2 members of the Phoenix sales and recruitment teams to assess cross-functional collaboration skills and approach to client and candidate service.
5. Offer extension: Successful candidates will receive a formal written offer within 5 business days of completing all interview steps, with a start date flexible within 2 weeks of offer acceptance.
To apply, send your resume and a brief 1-paragraph note outlining your most relevant sales experience and 1-2 key revenue achievements from past roles to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager - Phoenix - [Your Full Name]". We will reach out to all qualified candidates within 5 business days of application receipt.
