Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group is a nationally recognized staffing and recruitment firm with over 15 years of experience placing top talent across the logistics, healthcare, technology, and business services sectors in the United States. Ranked among the top 100 staffing firms by Staffing Industry Analysts in 2023, we maintain a 92% 12-month retention rate for placed employees, a testament to our rigorous candidate-employer matching process. We currently operate 24 offices across 12 U.S. states, and we are expanding our presence in the Southwest to meet growing demand for flexible staffing solutions from Phoenix-based businesses.
We are now hiring an Area Sales Manager for the Phoenix, AZ metropolitan territory, covering the greater Phoenix area including Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler. This hybrid role requires 2 days per week at our downtown Phoenix office and 3 days of client-facing field work to build relationships with local businesses and drive placement revenue growth for the region.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Develop and execute a territorial sales strategy for the Phoenix market with a target of generating $1.2 million in annual placement commission revenue in the first year, aligned with the company's Southwest expansion goals.
2. Manage a portfolio of 80 to 120 existing and prospective business clients across logistics, healthcare, and business services sectors, completing a minimum of 15 client visits per week and maintaining a 90%+ client satisfaction rate measured via quarterly surveys.
3. Prospect new business using targeted tools including LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo, with a target of signing 25 new staffing placement contracts per quarter to grow the regional client base.
4. Negotiate service contracts with clients, covering placement fees, guarantee terms, and payment timelines, while maintaining an average gross profit margin of 35% across all signed agreements.
5. Coordinate with internal recruitment teams to match candidate profiles to client needs, participating in at least 2 weekly sync meetings with Phoenix-based recruiters to reduce average placement time from 14 days to 10 days by the end of the first year.
6. Update and analyze sales data in the company's Salesforce CRM, entering client interaction notes and meeting recaps within 24 hours of each client touchpoint, and producing a weekly territorial performance report for regional sales leadership.
7. Mentor and train new junior sales hires for the Phoenix territory, delivering at least 4 hours of coaching per week, with a target of upskilling 2 new junior reps per quarter and achieving an 85% 12-month retention rate for junior sales staff.
8. Attend at least 2 local staffing and human resources industry events per quarter to expand the company's professional network and identify new partnership opportunities with local business associations.
Our work environment prioritizes autonomy and collaboration: sales managers have full control over their daily schedules and territory management approach, while benefiting from ongoing support from a team of 12 senior sales leaders with decades of combined staffing industry experience. We maintain a culture of transparent performance tracking, with anonymized monthly sales metrics shared across the team to foster healthy competition, and weekly peer learning sessions to share successful sales tactics. Our Phoenix office includes a dedicated coworking space, on-site gym for employees, and a relaxation zone with complimentary beverages and snacks. We also host quarterly team events including hiking trips in the nearby Sonoran Desert, group lunches, and sales competitions with cash and travel prizes.
To qualify for this role, you must have at least 3 years of B2B sales experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a territory management or sales leadership role. You must be fluent in written and spoken English, hold a valid driver's license, and have access to a personal vehicle for client travel across the Phoenix metro area. Prior experience in the staffing or recruitment industry is a strong asset, as is familiarity with the local Phoenix business landscape. We value candidates who demonstrate high autonomy, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to build long-term trust-based relationships with clients of all sizes.
You will be required to use the following real-world tools in your day-to-day work: Salesforce CRM for client portfolio and opportunity tracking, LinkedIn Sales Navigator for targeted prospecting, ZoomInfo for decision-maker contact research, Microsoft Office 365 for report and client presentation creation, and Zoom/Microsoft Teams for internal and client meetings. Familiarity with project management tools including Jira or Asana for cross-team recruitment coordination is a plus.
The compensation package for this role includes a competitive base salary of $115,000 per year, adjusted based on your years of sales experience and familiarity with the Phoenix market. You will also receive uncapped weekly commission payments, meaning there is no upper limit to your earnings based on performance. Additional benefits include 80% employer-paid health insurance coverage for you and your dependents, 15 paid vacation days per year plus 10 paid sick days, a 4% employer 401(k) match on your annual salary, full reimbursement for work-related travel expenses (mileage, parking, client meals), and a provided work setup including a laptop, company phone, and full access to all required sales tools. After a 3-month probation period, you will also be eligible for 2 remote work days per week.
This role offers clear career growth pathways within Wise Staffing Group. After 2 consecutive years of exceeding performance targets, you will be eligible to apply for the Regional Sales Manager position for the Southwest U.S., which comes with a 20% base salary increase and management of a team of 5 Area Sales Managers. We also provide quarterly paid training sessions on advanced sales techniques, contract negotiation, and leadership, plus a formal mentorship program pairing you with senior sales directors to accelerate your professional development. 70% of our current regional sales leaders were promoted from Area Sales Manager roles within 3 years of joining the company.
The hiring process for this role takes a maximum of 2 weeks and includes 3 steps: 1. A 30-minute phone screening with our HR recruitment specialist to confirm your experience alignment with the role and introduce you to company expectations. 2. A 45-minute video interview with the Southwest regional sales director to discuss your past B2B sales experience and career goals. 3. A final 30-minute on-site interview at our Phoenix office to meet the team you will be working with and answer any remaining questions.
