Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix

📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

Wise Staffing Group is a national workforce solutions provider with 22 years of experience connecting top talent with local businesses across light industrial, administrative, professional, and technical sectors. Operating in 32 U.S. markets and serving more than 2,100 client partners nationwide, we have built a reputation for transparent pay structures, rapid candidate placement, and long-term client partnerships that drive consistent growth for both our clients and our sales teams. Unlike many staffing firms that rely on high-pressure sales tactics and delayed commission payouts, we prioritize sustainable relationship-building, with 78% of our client accounts retained for 3+ years, and weekly commission payouts that ensure our sales teams never have to wait to access their earned income.

We are currently hiring an Area Sales Manager for our greater Phoenix, AZ territory, to lead business development, expand our local client base, and oversee end-to-end sales operations for the region. This role is built for a results-driven sales professional who thrives in autonomous, low-micro-management environments, has a strong existing network of local Phoenix business contacts, and is motivated by uncapped earning potential with a base salary of up to $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your years of relevant sales experience, track record of revenue generation, and knowledge of the local Phoenix business landscape.

In this role, you will be based out of our central Phoenix office, with 60% of your time dedicated to client site visits, local networking events, and prospecting activities across the metro area, and 40% of your time spent on administrative work, pipeline tracking, and team collaboration in the office. Our Phoenix team is made up of 12 sales and recruitment professionals, with a collaborative culture that prioritizes shared learning over internal competition: you will have access to dedicated operations support to handle contract processing and candidate screening, so you can focus on high-impact sales activities that drive revenue.

Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Owning end-to-end sales for the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, with a target of generating $1.2M in annual recurring revenue from new client acquisitions, and expanding revenue from existing accounts by 15% year-over-year, with clear quarterly targets aligned to national company growth goals.
2. Prospecting and qualifying 20+ new local business leads per week across target sectors including light industrial manufacturing, healthcare support, logistics, and professional services, using a combination of cold outreach, local chamber of commerce events, industry trade shows, and referrals from existing client partners.
3. Conducting in-depth needs assessments for prospective clients, developing custom staffing solutions that align with their hiring timelines, budget constraints, and workforce requirements, and presenting tailored proposals to c-suite and operations leadership stakeholders.
4. Negotiating and closing staffing service contracts, ensuring all terms align with company pricing guidelines and 22% minimum margin targets, while building long-term partnerships that result in an 80%+ client retention rate for your assigned accounts.
5. Collaborating with the Phoenix recruitment operations team to communicate client hiring needs, ensure timely candidate submissions that meet client quality standards, and resolving any service issues within 24 hours to maintain client satisfaction scores of 4.7/5 or higher for your accounts.
6. Tracking all sales activity, client interactions, and pipeline progress in Salesforce and Bullhorn staffing software, submitting weekly pipeline reports to the regional sales director that include forecasted revenue, lead conversion rates, and barriers to closing active deals.
7. Representing Wise Staffing Group at local business networking events, industry trade shows, and community business functions 2-3 times per month to build brand awareness and generate high-quality leads for your territory.
8. Mentoring new sales hires joining the Phoenix team, sharing best practices for local market outreach and client relationship management to support overall team performance goals.

To qualify for this role, you must have 3+ years of professional B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales targets in your previous roles. You must also have at least 1 year of experience managing a sales territory or area, preferably within the staffing, recruitment, or workforce solutions industry, and have strong existing knowledge of the greater Phoenix business landscape, including key industry clusters and local professional networks. Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM tools for pipeline tracking is required, as is a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client site visits across the metro area. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, but we will fully consider candidates with equivalent professional sales experience. Familiarity with Bullhorn or other staffing-specific software is a plus, but not required, as we provide full training on all internal tools.

The total compensation package for this role is among the most competitive in the Phoenix staffing sales market, with no artificial caps on your earning potential. Your base salary will range from $85,000 to $115,000 annually, based on your experience and qualifications. On top of your base salary, you will receive uncapped commission paid weekly, with commission rates starting at 8% of net revenue from all new and existing accounts you manage, with higher rates of up to 12% available for top performers who exceed annual revenue targets by 20% or more. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance with 90% of premiums covered for employees and 50% for dependents; 15 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays; a 401(k) plan with a 4% company match; a $500 monthly car allowance to cover travel, client meeting, and networking expenses; and $2,000 in annual professional development funding for sales training, industry conferences, and networking events.

Career growth at Wise Staffing Group is fully merit-based, with clear advancement pathways for high performers. Top Area Sales Managers in our national network are eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Director roles within 12-18 months, where they oversee a team of 5-8 area managers across multiple markets, with total annual compensation of $180,000-$250,000 including base, commission, and performance bonuses. We also offer cross-functional mobility for sales professionals interested in moving into recruitment operations, client success, or corporate strategy roles, with internal transfer support and mentorship from leaders in those departments. For this Phoenix role specifically, you will have the opportunity to shape the growth strategy of our fastest-growing U.S. market, with input on territory expansion plans and new service offerings for local clients.

The hiring process for this role is designed to be transparent and efficient, with a total timeline of 2 weeks from application to offer. First, all qualified applicants will receive a 15-minute phone screening with our Phoenix HR coordinator to confirm your background, salary expectations, and fit for the role. Next, you will complete a 30-minute virtual interview with the Southwest Regional Sales Director, where you will discuss your previous sales experience, approach to territory management, and knowledge of the Phoenix business market. Finally, you will participate in a 45-minute in-person interview at our Phoenix office with the local General Manager, where you will complete a brief role-play exercise simulating a client pitch for staffing services, and have the opportunity to ask questions about the team and day-to-day responsibilities. All candidates will receive a decision within 3 business days of their final interview.

To apply, please send your resume to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager - Phoenix Application - [Your Full Name]", and include a brief 2-3 sentence note explaining why you are a strong fit for this role. We review all applications on a rolling basis, and will reach out to selected candidates within 5 business days of receiving your submission.
