Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group is a US-based staffing and recruitment firm operating since 2008, supporting more than 1 200 mid-sized and large enterprises across logistics, healthcare, manufacturing and professional services sectors with their temporary, permanent and project-based personnel needs. With 12 regional offices across the United States and a team of 220 recruitment and sales specialists, we have built a reputation for reliability, with a 94% client retention rate and a 92% candidate satisfaction score in 2024. We are currently expanding our sales team in the Southwest region, and are hiring an Area Sales Manager for the Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area to drive growth of our local client portfolio.
In this role, you will be responsible for the full sales cycle for staffing solutions targeted at small and medium enterprises (50 to 500 employees) operating in the Phoenix area, from initial prospecting to contract signature and long-term account management. You will work closely with a local team of 3 account managers, 2 recruiters and 1 administrative coordinator, reporting directly to the Regional Sales Director for the Southwest.
Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Prospecting and onboarding 15 new business clients per quarter across the Phoenix area, targeting companies in logistics (including those operating near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport), healthcare, light manufacturing and professional services, to grow the local revenue base by a minimum of $250 000 per quarter.
2. Managing the full B2B sales cycle for temporary, permanent and contract staffing solutions: analyzing client personnel needs, drafting tailored service proposals, negotiating contract terms and closing deals, with a target of maintaining a 30% closing rate for qualified leads.
3. Conducting at least 2 check-ins per month per existing client to identify cross-selling opportunities, resolve service issues and maintain a client retention rate of 90% annually for your assigned portfolio of 40 to 60 active accounts.
4. Collaborating with the local recruitment team to align candidate profiles with client requirements, monitoring mission fill rates and candidate satisfaction to ensure service quality, and providing feedback to improve the recruitment process.
5. Analyzing local performance metrics (mission fill rate, margin per mission, candidate turnover rate) using Salesforce CRM and internal Power BI dashboards, to present monthly optimization recommendations to the regional leadership team.
6. Representing Wise Staffing Group at a minimum of 2 local professional events per month (job fairs, industry meetups, chamber of commerce events) to generate qualified leads and increase brand visibility in the Phoenix business community.
7. Training and mentoring 2 new junior account managers hired for the Phoenix zone per year, to support team growth and ensure consistent service quality across all client interactions.
8. Ensuring full compliance with Arizona state labor laws, anti-discrimination regulations and internal data protection policies for all sales and recruitment activities in your assigned zone, to mitigate legal risk for the company.
The work environment for this role is hybrid: you will spend approximately 70% of your time on the road visiting clients and prospects across the Phoenix metropolitan area and surrounding suburbs, and 30% in our modern downtown Phoenix office for team meetings, administrative tasks and training sessions. Our team culture prioritizes autonomy over micromanagement: you will set your own daily schedule to optimize client visits, with weekly check-ins with your manager to align on priorities. We offer regular team building events, monthly sales training sessions and additional bonuses for teams that exceed their quarterly targets.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the staffing, recruitment or business services sector.
- Proven experience in prospecting, contract negotiation and key account management, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Familiarity with the Phoenix metropolitan area’s economic landscape, including its major industry clusters, is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, ideally Salesforce, as well as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for daily tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders, from SME owners to HR directors and operational managers.
- A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for client visits across the Phoenix area.
- Strong organizational skills, results orientation and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
The compensation package for this role includes a competitive annual base salary of $115 000, adjusted based on your experience and specific location within the Phoenix metro area. You will also benefit from uncapped weekly commission, paid directly upon client invoicing, with a commission rate ranging from 8% to 12% of the revenue you generate. Additional benefits include 80% employer-paid health insurance for you and your dependents, 15 days of paid annual leave plus 10 paid RTT days per year, 1 day of remote work per week, an annual performance bonus of up to $15 000 for exceeding annual targets, access to a dedicated sales and staffing training platform, and a company car provided after 1 year of service if you meet your performance goals.
Career growth opportunities at Wise Staffing Group are clear and accessible: after 12 to 18 months of consistent performance, you can be promoted to Regional Sales Director for the Southwest region, leading a team of 3 to 5 Area Sales Managers. You may also specialize as a Key Account Manager for a specific sector (e.g. healthcare or logistics) or move into a sales training role to support new recruiter onboarding. The company covers all costs for external management and sales training courses for employees seeking to advance their careers.
Recruitment process and next steps:
1. Submit your application by email to [email protected], attaching your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant B2B sales experience and knowledge of the Phoenix metropolitan area.
2. A 30-minute phone screening with the local HR manager to discuss your expectations and share more details about the role and the company.
3. A 1-hour interview with the Southwest Regional Sales Director, including a practical case study where you will present your 3-month prospecting strategy for the Phoenix market.
4. A final 45-minute interview with the Vice President of Sales to discuss your long-term career goals and answer any remaining questions.
The full recruitment process takes 10 to 15 working days. If selected, you will start with a 2-week onboarding training at our Dallas, TX office to learn our sales processes, tools and service offerings, before taking up your post in Phoenix.
