Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix

📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

Wise Staffing Group is a nationally recognized staffing and recruiting firm with 22 years of experience connecting mid-sized and enterprise employers across the U.S. with qualified talent across light industrial, administrative, professional, and skilled trades sectors. To date, we have placed more than 52,000 candidates in permanent and temporary roles, and partner with over 2,100 clients ranging from Arizona-based semiconductor manufacturing plants to regional healthcare systems and logistics providers. We are currently expanding our Phoenix sales division to meet growing local demand for staffing services, and are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to own end-to-end sales operations for the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, including outlying markets in Mesa, Chandler, and Scottsdale.

In this role, you will not be limited to generic cold-calling or quota-chasing without support: you will have access to our dedicated in-house Phoenix recruitment team, pre-qualified lead lists for high-growth local industries, and a compensation structure that rewards consistent performance with no arbitrary earnings caps. Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Prospect and acquire 8–12 new staffing client accounts per quarter across light industrial, administrative, and professional services verticals, leveraging local business networks, industry events, and targeted outreach to hit a minimum quarterly new revenue target of $180,000.
2. Manage a portfolio of 40–60 existing staffing clients, conducting quarterly business reviews to identify unmet hiring needs, reduce annual client churn to below 10%, and upsell additional service lines including temp-to-hire, direct placement, and payroll processing.
3. Collaborate with the Phoenix recruitment team to align client job order requirements with candidate pipelines, ensuring 95% of placed candidates meet client skill and cultural fit requirements within 48 hours of order receipt.
4. Negotiate staffing service contracts with client HR leaders and operations managers, securing average bill rates 12–15% above regional market averages to maximize business margin.
5. Develop and execute quarterly sales strategies tailored to Phoenix-specific industry trends, including the region's booming semiconductor manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare administration sectors, to capitalize on high-demand, high-volume hiring needs.
6. Track all sales activity, client interactions, and revenue metrics in our Salesforce CRM platform with 100% data accuracy, submitting weekly performance reports to the regional sales director to inform territory-wide strategy adjustments.
7. Represent Wise Staffing Group at local chamber of commerce events, industry trade shows, and client networking functions 2–3 times per month to build brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
8. Mentor and train new sales hires on the Phoenix team, sharing proven best practices for local client outreach and contract negotiation to lift overall team performance by 15% year-over-year.

Our Phoenix office is located in the central business district, with a flexible hybrid schedule that allows 3 days in-office for client meetings and team collaboration, and 2 days remote for administrative work and lead follow-up, as long as you are available for client calls during core business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST. We prioritize transparency over internal politics, with weekly team huddles to share wins and troubleshoot challenges, and monthly team outings to local restaurants and sporting events. Our leadership team has decades of combined staffing industry experience, and we prioritize internal promotion: 70% of our current regional sales directors started as area sales managers in our local offices.

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, preferably in the staffing, recruiting, or HR services industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a competitive environment. You must have experience managing a client portfolio of 30+ accounts, strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, and the ability to analyze local market trends to identify high-value sales opportunities. Proficiency in CRM platforms (we use Salesforce, but experience with HubSpot or Zoho is also acceptable) is required, as is comfort with public speaking and networking at industry events. A bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred, but we will consider candidates with equivalent professional sales experience. You must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship, and hold a valid driver's license for occasional travel to client sites across the Phoenix metro area.

This role offers a base salary ranging from $85,000 to $115,000 annually, dependent on your prior sales experience and proven revenue generation track record. On top of your base pay, you will earn uncapped commission paid weekly, with top performers in our Phoenix office earning an additional $60,000 to $120,000 in commission annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance with 90% of premiums covered for you and your dependents, a 401(k) plan with 4% company match, 15 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays, and a $75 monthly cell phone and internet stipend to cover remote work expenses. We also cover 100% of costs for industry-related professional development, including sales training conferences and certification programs.

This role has a clear, structured path for career advancement: top-performing Area Sales Managers are eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Director within 18–24 months, overseeing multiple area sales teams across the Southwest with a total compensation package of $150,000 to $200,000 annually. We also offer lateral growth opportunities into corporate sales operations, business development, or recruiting management if you wish to pivot your career focus without leaving the Wise Staffing Group team. You will receive quarterly performance coaching with our regional leadership team to help you identify growth goals and build the skills needed to advance.

The hiring process for this role is transparent and efficient, with no unnecessary barriers. First, selected candidates will complete a 30-minute initial phone screen with our Phoenix HR manager to discuss your background and fit for the role. Next, you will participate in a 1-hour virtual interview with the Phoenix regional sales director, including a brief role-playing exercise to demonstrate your client negotiation skills. Finally, you will have a 30-minute in-person interview at our Phoenix office to meet the rest of the sales team and tour the workspace. The full process takes 7–10 business days from initial application to offer decision. To apply, send your resume to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager - Phoenix Application - [Your Full Name]". We review all applications within 3 business days and will only reach out to candidates who move forward in the process. No cover letter is required, though you are welcome to include a brief note explaining your fit for the role if you choose.
