Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix

📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

Wise Staffing Group is a national staffing and recruitment firm with 18 years of experience placing top talent across healthcare, light industrial, administrative, and professional services sectors for businesses of all sizes across the United States. With 27 offices in 14 states and a track record of filling more than 22,000 roles in 2023 alone, we have built a reputation for reliability, transparency, and personalized service for both clients and candidates. We are currently expanding our Southwest regional sales team and seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead end-to-end business development for our B2B staffing solutions across the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

This role is designed for a self-driven sales professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in the staffing, professional services, or B2B sales space, and prioritizes building long-term, mutually beneficial client partnerships over one-off transactional sales. You will be responsible for managing the full sales lifecycle for your assigned territory, from initial lead generation and client onboarding to ongoing account management and revenue growth, with full support from our local recruitment operations, customer success, and marketing teams.

Your core responsibilities will include:
- Owning the full sales lifecycle for 120+ active and prospective business clients in the Phoenix area, from initial cold outreach and needs assessment to contract negotiation and onboarding, with a target of closing 18-22 new staffing service contracts per quarter.
- Managing a portfolio of existing accounts generating $2.8M in annual recurring revenue, conducting quarterly business reviews with 90% of your client base to identify upsell opportunities, address service gaps, and maintain a 92%+ client retention rate year-over-year.
- Developing and executing targeted territory growth strategies using market data, competitor analysis, and industry trend insights to expand market share in the Phoenix healthcare and light industrial staffing verticals, with a 3-year revenue growth target of 35% for your assigned territory.
- Collaborating closely with the local recruitment operations team to align client talent needs with available candidate pools, reducing time-to-fill for open roles by 15% within your first 6 months in the role.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of all client interactions, deal progress, and pipeline forecasts in the company’s Salesforce CRM, delivering weekly pipeline reports to the regional sales leadership team with 95%+ data accuracy.
- Representing Wise Staffing Group at 8-10 local industry networking events, chamber of commerce meetings, and business association gatherings per quarter to build brand awareness and generate 30+ new qualified leads per month.
- Resolving client escalations within 24 business hours, working cross-functionally with operations, payroll, and customer success teams to address service issues and prevent churn, with a target of resolving 90% of escalations at the first point of contact.
- Forecasting quarterly and annual revenue for your territory with 90%+ accuracy, adjusting sales tactics and resource allocation as needed to hit or exceed assigned revenue targets.

Our Phoenix office is located in the central business district, with a collaborative open-floor layout, dedicated quiet workspaces for client calls, and a fully stocked break room with complimentary snacks and coffee. The sales team operates on a hybrid schedule, with 3 days per week in the office for team syncs, strategy sessions, and client meetings, and 2 days per week flexible for remote work or field client visits. Our company culture is built on transparency, accountability, and recognition: top performers are highlighted in monthly all-company meetings, and the leadership team maintains an open-door policy for feedback and career development discussions. We prioritize work-life balance for our sales team, with no after-hours email expectations outside of scheduled client calls, and 15 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays per year.

To qualify for this role, you must have 3+ years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, with at least 2 years of experience in the staffing, recruitment, or professional services industry strongly preferred. We require a proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a previous role, with verifiable revenue numbers from past positions. Strong knowledge of the greater Phoenix business landscape, with existing relationships in the healthcare, light industrial, or administrative services sectors, is a significant advantage. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to C-suite executives, operations managers, and HR leaders. Proficiency in Salesforce CRM or similar sales enablement tools, with experience building and maintaining accurate sales pipelines, is required. You must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for client visits across the Phoenix metro area, with the ability to travel up to 30% of the time for off-site meetings and networking events. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred, but not required for candidates with demonstrated consistent sales success.

You will be required to use the following tools in your day-to-day work: Salesforce CRM, HubSpot Sales Hub, Microsoft Office 365 (including advanced Excel for sales forecasting), Zoom, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Google Workspace.

The compensation package for this role is highly competitive, with a base salary ranging from $85,000 to $115,000 annually, dependent on your years of relevant sales experience and proven track record of revenue generation in previous roles. In addition to your base salary, you will earn uncapped commission paid weekly, with top performers in the Phoenix territory earning an additional $40,000 to $75,000 in commission annually. Our benefits package includes 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, with no monthly premium deductions. We offer a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% employer match, fully vested from your first day of employment. You will receive 15 days of paid time off per year, plus 10 paid company holidays, with additional paid time off available for bereavement, jury duty, and medical leave. We provide a $2,000 annual professional development stipend to use for sales training, industry conference tickets, or professional certification courses, plus a company-provided laptop, mobile phone, and monthly cell phone stipend to cover work-related communication costs. Quarterly performance bonuses are awarded to team members who exceed revenue targets, with an additional $5,000 bonus for the top-performing Area Sales Manager in the Southwest region each year.

Career growth is a core priority at Wise Staffing Group: 70% of our current regional sales directors were promoted from Area Sales Manager roles within 2-3 years of joining the company. As you grow in this role, you will have the opportunity to take on larger territory responsibilities, lead a team of junior sales representatives, or move into regional sales leadership positions. We offer customized career development plans for each sales team member, with quarterly check-ins with your direct manager to identify skill gaps, set professional goals, and map out a clear path for advancement within the company. High-performing Area Sales Managers are also eligible for company equity grants after 3 years of tenure, with the opportunity to earn a percentage of annual company profits as part of our employee profit-sharing program.

The hiring process for this role is designed to be transparent and efficient, with a total timeline of 2-3 weeks from initial application to formal offer. First, submit your resume to our HR team at [email protected]. If your background aligns with the role requirements, you will be invited to a 30-minute initial phone screen with our Phoenix-based HR Business Partner to discuss your sales experience, career goals, and salary expectations. Next, successful candidates will complete a 45-minute virtual interview with the Regional Sales Director for the Southwest region, where you will walk through your past sales achievements, discuss your approach to territory management, and learn more about the role’s day-to-day responsibilities. The final round is a 1-hour in-person interview at our Phoenix office with the local Sales Manager, where you will meet members of the sales and operations teams, tour the office, and have the opportunity to ask any remaining questions. All finalists will be required to complete a background check and employment verification prior to receiving a formal offer. We will respond to all applications within 5 business days of receipt, and will provide status updates to candidates at each stage of the interview process. To apply, send your resume and a brief 2-3 sentence explanation of your most significant sales achievement to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager - Phoenix - [Your Full Name]".
