Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group is a US-based staffing and recruitment firm operating for 14 years, specializing in placing commercial talent across B2B services, advanced manufacturing, and technology sectors for clients ranging from mid-sized regional businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises. With offices in 12 US states and a track record of 92% placement retention for sales roles over the past 3 years, we are expanding our commercial team in the Southwest to support growing client demand in the Arizona market.
We are currently hiring an Area Sales Manager based in Phoenix, AZ, to lead commercial development for our client portfolio across the state of Arizona, with occasional travel to neighboring New Mexico for client meetings. This role offers a guaranteed base salary of $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your years of relevant experience and prior sales performance, plus uncapped weekly commission with no payout delays common in traditional sales roles. You will report directly to the Regional Sales Director based in our Dallas, TX office, and work closely with a team of 8 existing commercial representatives based in the Phoenix metro area.
Your core responsibilities will be focused on growing our client portfolio and supporting the performance of our local sales team, with clear, measurable targets to ensure transparency around expectations:
1. Develop and maintain a portfolio of 80 active B2B client accounts across Arizona, with a target of onboarding 15 new accounts per quarter, prioritizing sectors including industrial manufacturing, professional services, and tech SaaS.
2. Achieve a minimum quarterly revenue target of $450,000 from new client contracts and upsells to existing accounts, with performance tracked weekly via our internal Salesforce dashboard.
3. Train and mentor 3 newly hired junior sales representatives based in Phoenix over your first 6 months in the role, with a target of 90% of these new hires hitting their onboarding performance targets within their first 3 months.
4. Manage end-to-end the RFP and bidding process for client contracts ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 in value, with a target conversion rate of 35% for submitted proposals.
5. Update all client interactions, pipeline data, and contract information in Salesforce CRM on a weekly basis, with a target of less than 5% data inaccuracy across your portfolio at quarterly audits.
6. Lead bi-weekly team performance meetings for the Phoenix-based sales team, and host monthly client networking events to support relationship building with key decision-makers in the local market.
7. Resolve escalated client complaints and service issues within 24 hours of receipt, with a target client satisfaction score of 92% or higher for all accounts under your management.
8. Analyze monthly sales performance data to identify gaps in the team’s strategy, and propose targeted adjustments to prospecting and outreach tactics to improve client retention by 10% year-over-year.
9. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop localized sales assets and outreach campaigns tailored to Arizona-based B2B decision-makers, with a target of 20% increase in inbound lead volume from these campaigns in your first year.
10. Report weekly to the Regional Sales Director on pipeline health, team performance, and market trends in the Arizona commercial landscape.
The work environment for this role is hybrid, with 3 days per week required at our Phoenix office located in the downtown area, featuring dedicated sales workspaces, a fully stocked break room, on-site gym access, and casual dress code. The remaining 2 days per week are flexible for remote work, with no requirement to be online outside of core business hours (8am-6pm MST). Our team culture prioritizes performance over presenteeism: we do not track hours worked, only results against agreed targets, and we host monthly team building events including hiking trips in the nearby Superstition Mountains and quarterly team offsites.
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years of full-time B2B sales experience, preferably with a track record of managing client portfolios worth $500,000 or more annually. You must be proficient in using Salesforce CRM for pipeline management, have experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospecting, and be comfortable analyzing sales data in Microsoft Excel to produce monthly performance reports. A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are required for regular client visits across the state of Arizona. Fluency in English is mandatory, and a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience will be considered. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build long-term client relationships are non-negotiable for this role.
In addition to your base salary and uncapped weekly commission, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including 20 days of paid time off per year plus 10 company-paid holidays, 80% coverage of health insurance premiums for you and your dependents, a 5% annual profit-sharing contribution to your retirement account, and a $2,000 annual professional development budget to cover sales certifications, industry events, or training courses of your choice. After 6 months of successful performance, you will be eligible for a company-provided vehicle for client visits, and after 1 year, you will have the option to take on oversight of the New Mexico market for additional commission opportunities.
Career growth at Wise Staffing Group is transparent and tied to performance: top-performing Area Sales Managers are typically promoted to Regional Sales Director roles within 2 years, with access to our executive mentorship program and leadership training courses. You will also have the opportunity to build and manage your own sales team as the company expands its Southwest operations.
The hiring process for this role is as follows: once you submit your application via the provided link, our HR team will review your profile within 3 business days. If your profile matches our requirements, you will be invited to a 15-minute initial phone screening with a member of the recruitment team. Following a successful screening, you will be invited to a 45-minute virtual interview with the Southwest Regional Sales Director, followed by a 30-minute final interview with our Director of Operations. If all interviews are successful, we will extend a formal offer within 72 hours of your final interview, with a targeted start date within 2 weeks of offer acceptance. No cover letter is required for this application; simply submit your resume and any relevant sales performance documentation via the apply link.
