Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix

📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026

Description du poste

Wise Staffing Group is a national, family-owned staffing firm with 15 years of experience connecting mid-sized and enterprise businesses across the U.S. with top-tier professional, industrial, and healthcare talent. We serve more than 2,200 client partners across 12 states, with a 92% client retention rate for our core staffing solutions, and we are expanding our Phoenix, AZ sales team to support growing local demand for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct placement staffing across the manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare sectors.
We are hiring an Area Sales Manager for our Phoenix territory to own end-to-end business development for our full suite of staffing offerings, for clients across the greater Phoenix metro (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale). This is an independent, quota-carrying role where you will own your territory schedule, build your own client pipeline, and have full autonomy to execute your sales strategy, with dedicated support from our local recruitment and operations teams to deliver on client promises.
Your core measurable responsibilities will include:
1. Acquiring 12–15 new qualified client accounts per quarter, targeting mid-sized businesses with 50–500 employees in manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics sectors, with a focus on companies with recurring staffing needs for warehouse, administrative, clinical, and skilled trade roles.
2. Developing and presenting tailored staffing proposals for client needs, with a target 75%+ close rate on submitted proposals within 30 days of initial client outreach, and a minimum gross margin of 35% on all placed roles.
3. Managing a portfolio of 40+ active client accounts, conducting quarterly business reviews to identify upsell opportunities, and driving a 20% year-over-year increase in recurring revenue from existing accounts.
4. Partnering with the local recruitment team to align client talent requirements with available candidate pools, reducing average time-to-fill for client roles by 15% compared to regional staffing averages.
5. Representing Wise Staffing Group at local industry events, chamber of commerce meetings, and business networking groups, securing 2–3 new qualified leads per week through in-person and virtual outreach, plus 10+ new leads per month via LinkedIn Sales Navigator and targeted cold outreach.
6. Generating weekly and monthly sales forecasts with 90%+ accuracy, updating the HubSpot CRM with all client interactions, pipeline status, and deal notes within 24 hours of each touchpoint.
7. Negotiating service agreements and pricing structures with clients, balancing competitive market positioning with company margin targets, and resolving client concerns or service issues within 24 hours of escalation.
8. Mentoring 2–3 junior sales associates on the local Phoenix team, delivering weekly coaching sessions and shadowing opportunities to drive a 10% year-over-year increase in team close rates.
Our Phoenix office is located in the central business district, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 in-office days per week for team syncs, client call prep, and networking events, and 2 flexible remote days for prospecting, proposal writing, and admin work. We prioritize work-life balance and do not expect after-hours communication unless pre-agreed with a client for urgent matters, with a formal cutoff for non-urgent work communications at 6PM MST. Our team culture is low-ego and results-driven: we celebrate top performers monthly with cash bonuses and public recognition, host quarterly team outings (recent events include desert hikes, brewery tours, and local charity volunteer days), and provide ongoing access to professional development resources without requiring out-of-pocket costs for relevant training.
To qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in staffing, recruiting, HR services, SaaS, or manufacturing/logistics sales, with a documented track record of hitting or exceeding sales quotas for 2+ consecutive years. You must be comfortable with regular client travel across the greater Phoenix metro (up to 30% of your work week, scheduled in advance to minimize back-to-back travel days), have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and be proficient in HubSpot CRM, Google Workspace, and Zoom. Experience with Bullhorn or other staffing-specific CRM tools, Salesforce for enterprise client tracking, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency are strong pluses for serving Phoenix’s diverse client base.
The compensation package for this role includes a base salary of up to $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your prior sales experience and proven performance history, plus uncapped weekly commission paid out every Friday for deals closed that week. Top performers on our national sales team earn $180,000–$250,000 annually. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 90% of premiums covered for you and 50% for dependents, a 401(k) plan with a 4% company match, 15 days of paid time off plus 10 paid company holidays, 5 paid volunteer days per year, a $100 monthly cell phone and internet stipend, a monthly car allowance for client travel, and full coverage for gym memberships and mental health support through our employee wellness program.
Career growth is a core priority for our sales teams: we promote from within for 80% of open leadership roles, and top Area Sales Managers can advance to Regional Sales Director, National Sales Lead, or operations leadership positions after 2–3 years of consistent overperformance. You will have regular 1:1s with our VP of Sales to co-create a personalized career development plan, with clear advancement milestones, and we cover 100% of costs for relevant sales certification programs, industry conference tickets, and professional development courses.
The full hiring process for this role takes 7–10 business days from initial application to offer decision. First, you will complete a 15-minute initial phone screen with our local HR Business Partner to confirm your experience and salary expectations. Next, a 30-minute video interview with the current Phoenix Area Sales Manager to discuss the role’s day-to-day responsibilities and team culture. Finally, a 45-minute panel interview with the VP of Sales and Phoenix Operations Lead, including a short role-play exercise simulating a client discovery call for a local manufacturing business looking to hire 10 temporary warehouse staff. Successful candidates will start within 2 weeks of offer acceptance, with a structured 90-day onboarding plan that includes 2 weeks of product and industry training, shadowing of top-performing sales reps in adjacent markets, and 30-60-90 day check-ins with your direct manager to ensure you are set up for long-term success.
If you have a track record of hitting sales quotas, enjoy building relationships with business leaders, and want to own your territory and earning potential, we encourage you to reach out to our HR team at [email protected] to start the application process.
