Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group is a nationally recognized staffing and recruitment firm with over a decade of experience connecting mid-sized and enterprise businesses across the U.S. with qualified talent across sectors including healthcare, construction, technology, and logistics. With a 12% year-over-year growth rate over the past three years and a network of 32 regional offices, we prioritize results-driven sales leadership and localized market expertise to deliver consistent value to both clients and candidates. We are currently expanding our Southwest region operations and seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our commercial activities in the Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area.
In this role, you will own the full sales cycle for the Phoenix market, from prospecting new clients to closing long-term recruitment contracts, while managing a team of 5 to 7 recruiters and account executives. Your core mandate will be to grow regional annual revenue to $1.2M while maintaining a 90% client retention rate over 12-month periods. Key measurable responsibilities include: executing 15 to 20 daily prospecting actions (cold calls, on-site client visits, local business networking events) to build a portfolio of 80 to 120 active business clients; negotiating permanent placement, temporary staffing, and staff augmentation contracts with a target 35% average gross margin; resolving candidate placement or client service issues within 24 business hours to maintain a minimum client satisfaction score of 4.5/5; analyzing sales performance data via Bullhorn CRM to produce monthly conversion and profitability reports for regional leadership; representing Wise Staffing Group at a minimum of 2 local chamber of commerce or industry events per month to generate qualified leads; and sharing insights on Phoenix-area labor market trends (sector growth, talent shortages, salary benchmarks) with the national product team to adapt service offerings.
Our work environment is designed for autonomy and results, with no rigid presenteeism requirements. You will follow a hybrid schedule: 3 days per week at our Phoenix downtown office for team syncs and client meetings, and 2 days of remote work for administrative tasks and prospecting. We provide monthly training sessions on advanced sales techniques, Arizona labor regulations, and Bullhorn CRM best practices, and offer quarterly team-building events for high-performing regions. Performance is evaluated exclusively on objective revenue and team development targets, not hours worked.
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, with at least 1 year of experience managing a commercial team, preferably in the staffing, HR services, or B2B professional services sector. You must have deep familiarity with the Phoenix-area business landscape, including key growth sectors and local employer hiring needs. Proficiency in Bullhorn CRM is preferred; we will provide formal training for candidates with experience in other CRM platforms. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required for regular client travel across the Phoenix metro area. Fluency in professional English, with demonstrated experience negotiating with C-level executives and HR directors, is mandatory.
Technical skills required for this role include mastery of Bullhorn (the industry-standard CRM for staffing firms used across all Wise Staffing Group commercial teams), Salesforce for national lead tracking, Microsoft Office 365 for reporting and client presentations, Zoom for remote client meetings, and Google Workspace for internal collaboration.
The compensation package for this role starts at a base salary of $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your experience and interview performance. You will also receive uncapped weekly commission payments, with no end-of-month payout delay, allowing top performers in the region to reach total annual compensation of $180,000 to $220,000. Additional benefits include 80% employer-paid health insurance coverage for you and your dependents, 15 paid vacation days plus 10 paid RTO days per year, an employee profit-sharing plan after 1 year of tenure, a company vehicle with a fuel card for professional travel, and an annual $2,000 professional development budget for industry conferences and sales training.
This role is a clear pathway to senior leadership within Wise Staffing Group: 70% of our regional director and national account leadership roles are filled internally by high-performing sales managers. You will receive quarterly one-on-one coaching from the Southwest Regional Sales Director to build a personalized career development plan aligned with your goals.
Recruitment process and next steps: Qualified candidates will be contacted within 5 business days for a 30-minute initial phone screen with the national recruitment lead. Successful candidates will then be invited to a 1-hour in-person interview at our Phoenix office with the Southwest Regional Sales Director, followed by a 30-minute practical exercise simulating a client contract negotiation. The full recruitment process takes 10 to 15 business days to complete. To apply, send your updated resume to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager Phoenix Application - [Your Full Name]". We commit to responding to all applications, even for unsuccessful candidates.
