Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeOn-site📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group is a nationally recognized staffing and recruiting firm with 12 years of experience placing top sales, administrative, and industrial talent across 22 U.S. markets. We partner with more than 1,200 mid-sized and enterprise clients in sectors including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and professional services, with a 94% client retention rate that reflects our commitment to matching talent with organizational needs. Our Phoenix office serves the greater metro area, supporting businesses from Tempe to Scottsdale to Chandler, and we are expanding our sales team to meet growing demand for specialized staffing solutions in the region.
We are hiring an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our Phoenix territory, driving new business acquisition and client retention for our corporate staffing services. This role offers a competitive base salary of up to $115,000 annually, adjusted based on your prior sales experience and territory performance, plus an uncapped weekly commission structure with no clawbacks on earned earnings. Top performers in this role regularly earn total annual compensation between $150,000 and $210,000, with no artificial cap on your earning potential. You will report directly to the Southwest Regional Sales Director and work closely with the Phoenix recruitment and operations teams to deliver seamless service to your client portfolio.
Your core responsibilities will include:
1. Develop and execute a 90-day territory penetration plan targeting mid-sized to enterprise businesses in the Phoenix area with 50+ employee headcount, with a target of closing 12 new client accounts per quarter to hit annual territory revenue goals of $2.2M.
2. Manage a portfolio of 35+ active staffing clients, conducting quarterly business reviews with each to identify upcoming hiring needs, upsell additional service lines (temp-to-hire, contract, direct placement) to increase average revenue per client by 15% year-over-year.
3. Collaborate with the Phoenix recruitment team to align client job requirements with candidate pipelines, ensuring 95% of placed roles meet client satisfaction scores of 4.2/5 or higher within 30 days of placement.
4. Attend 3-4 local industry networking events per month (Arizona Technology Council meetings, Phoenix Chamber of Commerce events, industry-specific mixers) to generate 25+ new qualified leads per month for the territory.
5. Negotiate staffing service contracts with new clients, securing average markup rates of 65% on bill rates to meet gross margin targets of 42% for all territory placements.
6. Track all sales activity, client interactions, and pipeline data in Salesforce, updating records within 24 hours of each client touchpoint to ensure accurate forecasting for quarterly revenue targets.
7. Resolve client service escalations within 4 business hours, working with recruitment and operations teams to address placement issues and retain at-risk accounts, reducing territory client churn to less than 8% annually.
8. Mentor and train 2-3 new junior sales representatives joining the Phoenix team, conducting weekly 1:1 coaching sessions to help them hit their individual sales quotas 20% faster than the national average for new hires.
Our Phoenix office is located in downtown Phoenix, with easy access to public transit and major highways for client travel. We foster a collaborative, results-driven culture with minimal micromanagement: your performance is measured against your revenue and client satisfaction targets, not hours logged in the office. The team hosts weekly huddles to share wins and market insights, monthly sales contests with prizes including all-expenses-paid trips to Las Vegas, extra commission bonuses, and team building events like quarterly client appreciation outings and annual company retreats. We offer flexible scheduling outside of pre-scheduled client meetings and networking events, so you can structure your workday to align with your personal commitments while hitting your sales goals.
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of exceeding sales quotas in a prior role. Experience in the staffing, recruiting, or HR services industry is strongly preferred, as is existing familiarity with the greater Phoenix business landscape and existing relationships with HR leaders and hiring managers at mid-sized to enterprise local businesses. You must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for regular client visits across the Phoenix metro area. Strong negotiation and communication skills are required, with the ability to build rapport with C-level executives and HR decision-makers. Proficiency in Salesforce for CRM management, Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and contract drafting, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for lead generation is required.
You will use the following tools regularly in this role: Salesforce (for client pipeline and activity tracking), LinkedIn Sales Navigator (for lead generation and prospect research), DocuSign (for contract execution), Microsoft Dynamics 365 (for internal revenue forecasting and reporting), Zoom (for virtual client check-ins and team meetings), and Google Workspace (for cross-team collaboration with recruitment and operations staff).
In addition to your base salary and uncapped weekly commission, we offer a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance with 90% of employee premiums covered and 50% of dependent premiums covered. You will receive 15 days of paid time off per year, plus 10 paid company holidays and unlimited sick leave. We offer a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match that vests immediately, so you start earning retirement contributions from your first paycheck. We provide a company-issued cell phone and laptop for work use, plus a monthly $150 stipend to cover client entertainment, networking event tickets, and travel expenses related to territory management. Employees who exceed their annual revenue targets by 20% or more are eligible for an additional performance bonus of up to 10% of their base salary.
Wise Staffing Group promotes from within for 70% of all leadership roles, and top-performing Area Sales Managers are eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Director within 18 to 24 months, overseeing a team of 3 to 5 territory sales managers across the Southwest region. You will also have access to ongoing professional development opportunities, including paid attendance to national staffing industry conferences, internal sales training programs, and leadership development workshops to help you build the skills needed to advance your career.
To apply, send your resume and a brief 1-paragraph summary of your top 3 sales achievements in the Phoenix area to [email protected] with the subject line "Area Sales Manager - Phoenix - [Your Full Name]". We review applications on a rolling basis, and selected candidates will be invited for a 30-minute initial phone screen with the Phoenix Regional Sales Director. Finalists will move on to a 2-hour in-person interview at our downtown Phoenix office, which includes a role-play exercise simulating a client negotiation scenario and a meeting with the territory recruitment team to assess cross-team alignment. We aim to extend offers to successful candidates within 10 business days of the final interview, with a start date flexible within 2 weeks of offer acceptance. No cover letter is required, but candidates who include documented sales performance metrics from prior roles will be prioritized for interview slots.
