Hiring Area Sales Manager in Phoenix
📍 Phoenix, AZFull-timeHybrid📅 11 juin 2026
Description du poste
Wise Staffing Group is a nationally growing recruitment and staffing firm with over a decade of experience connecting mid-sized and enterprise businesses across the U.S. with top-tier talent across construction, healthcare, technology, hospitality, and industrial sectors. With a network of 50+ local offices and a 92% client retention rate, we have built our reputation on results-driven service, transparent communication, and tailored staffing solutions that meet the unique needs of both employers and job seekers. We are now expanding our sales footprint in the Southwest U.S. and looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our Phoenix, AZ operations and drive growth across the Arizona, southern Nevada, and New Mexico markets.
As an Area Sales Manager at Wise Staffing Group, you will own the full sales cycle for your territory, from prospecting new business to negotiating contracts and overseeing client relationships long-term, while also leading a local team of recruiters and account managers to deliver on placement promises. This role is ideal for a results-oriented sales professional with experience in B2B services sales, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing both client expectations and team performance.
Key measurable responsibilities for this role include:
1. Develop and execute a territorial sales strategy for the Phoenix metro area and adjacent markets, with a target of 25% year-over-year revenue growth for the zone, focused on high-demand sectors including construction, healthcare, and technology.
2. Prospect 30 new B2B clients per quarter (targeting companies with 50 to 5,000 employees) via cold outreach, on-site visits, local business association events, and networking with regional chamber of commerce groups, maintaining a 15% conversion rate from initial contact to signed contract.
3. Manage an existing portfolio of 80+ active clients, conducting weekly check-ins with key accounts, resolving placement issues within 24 business hours, and maintaining a minimum 90% client retention rate across the fiscal year.
4. Supervise a team of 8 to 10 local recruiters and account executives, hosting weekly skills training sessions, setting individual weekly and monthly performance targets, and joining key client meetings at least twice per week to support closing deals.
5. Negotiate staffing service contracts with clients, setting competitive pricing, replacement guarantee terms, and payment schedules, while maintaining a minimum 45% gross margin on all signed agreements.
6. Conduct monthly performance reviews of the Phoenix zone, analyzing metrics including lead conversion rate, average time-to-fill for open positions, revenue per industry sector, and adjusting sales tactics accordingly, with a formal performance report presented to national leadership at the end of each month.
7. Partner with the local marketing team to host at least 4 business networking events per year (industry breakfasts, after-hours mixers, recruitment best-practice workshops) to boost Wise Staffing Group's brand visibility in the Phoenix market and generate 100+ qualified leads annually.
8. Manage the annual zone budget (covering travel, event costs, and prospecting tools), keeping total expenses at or below 10% of zone revenue, and identifying at least 2 cost-optimization opportunities per quarter.
Our Phoenix office offers a hybrid work model, with 3 days per week in our modern downtown office (equipped with coworking spaces, an on-site gym, and quiet focus rooms) and 2 days per week dedicated to on-site client visits or remote work. We prioritize autonomy over micromanagement: you will have full control over your daily schedule to accommodate client meetings and team needs, with regular support from national leadership, a dedicated marketing coordinator, and a national talent pool to draw from for client placements. We celebrate wins big and small, with monthly team recognition events, quarterly performance bonuses for top performers, and an open feedback culture where all team members are encouraged to share ideas to improve our service offering.
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 1 year of experience in staffing, recruitment, or business services sales preferred.
- Proven track record of growing sales territories, with verifiable metrics (e.g. 20%+ revenue growth in a previous role, 85%+ client retention rate) to share during the interview process.
- Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills, with the ability to identify unspoken client needs around talent acquisition and retention.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred; HubSpot or Zoho CRM experience also accepted) for tracking leads, client interactions, and contract details.
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel across the Phoenix zone and adjacent markets, with a clean driving record.
- Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a strong plus to serve the region's large Hispanic business community.
- A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent professional experience will be considered.
In addition to the competitive base salary of up to $115,000 annually (adjusted based on experience and territory size), this role includes an uncapped weekly commission structure with no earning ceiling: top performers in the Wise Staffing Group network earn up to 3x their base salary annually in commission. Our benefits package includes 80% coverage of health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, 15 paid vacation days per year plus 10 company holidays, and unlimited paid leave for family-related needs (birth, adoption, immediate family illness). We also offer a 4% employer match on your 401(k) retirement plan, full reimbursement of travel, mileage, and meal expenses for client meetings, and annual professional development stipends for sales training, industry conferences, or management courses to support your career growth.
This role is a clear path to senior leadership within Wise Staffing Group: after 12 to 18 months of consistent above-target performance, you will be eligible for promotion to Regional Sales Director for the entire Southwest U.S., with a 20-30% salary increase and additional performance bonuses. We prioritize internal promotion, with 70% of our senior leadership team having started in entry-level sales or recruitment roles at the company.
Our hiring process is designed to be transparent and efficient, with a total timeline of 2 weeks from initial application to offer:
1. 30-minute initial phone screen with our HR recruitment lead to confirm your experience aligns with the role and answer any questions you have about the position or company.
2. 45-minute second interview with the Southwest Regional Sales Director to discuss your past sales achievements, your approach to territory management, and team leadership experience.
3. 30-minute final interview with the National Director of Business Development to confirm cultural fit and share the full compensation and benefits package details.
We commit to responding to all applicants within 5 business days of each interview stage. If selected, your start date will be aligned with your availability, with a maximum onboarding timeline of 2 weeks after contract signing.
